  • Beautification or Problem Solving?
Our entire philosophy surrounding aesthetics is that we do not aim to solve your problem, rather at beautifying, and that in turn leads to problem solving. Problem solving does not necessarily lead to beautification. It's important to understand that we have an holistic approach to aesthetics. Our sole ambition is to leave you looking and feeling fantastic. More often than not what you deem to be the issue, might only be a symptom of something else entirely, and this is where our expertise comes in to appropriately diagnose and treat. "If I solve your problem I do not necessarily beautify, but if I beautify I indirectly solve your problem" - Dr Chris
  • Is toxin poisonous?
Technically, yes. Botulinam is a toxin, but used at extremely low doses it only has a localized effect. In our use cases, it is completely safe to use.
  • How long does toxin take to have an effect?
This is dependant on the product. Toxin may take up to three days to show the effect, while DYSPORT® may show after only a day.
  • Will my entire face be frozen?
No, not in the way we apply it. We pride ourselves in achieving the perfect dose to keep you looking natural.
  • Are there any specific things I should avoid after treatment?
Yes, results will be very much dependant on the proper after care: 1. Avoid applying pressure or massaging the treated areas for a few hours after the procedure. This may disperse the botox into undesired areas 2. Avoid lying down or bending over for 4 after treatment as this may allow botox to disperse in undesired directions 3. Avoid strenuous exercise and yoga after the procedure. This may raise your blood pressure and pulse causing more bruising and swelling 4. You may apply Make-up after the procedure. 5. You may apply Cold compresses to the treatment sites to reduce swelling and bruising. 6. We may recommend a Vitamin K cream to treat any bruising 7. Note that any bumps or marks from the extremely small needle sticks will go away within an hour. If you do develop a bruise it will resolve like any other bruise. There is occasionally some mild pain, swelling, itching, or redness at the site of injection similar to most other injections. Redness may last for 1-2 days, rarely longer. 8. Results of your treatment may take up to 14 days to take full effect although many people will recognise the benefits in 3-5 days after treatment. 9. Toxin is a temporary procedure. In most people the benefits of Botox last about 3-4 months. Sometimes a few wrinkles may start to return in 2-3 months. The effectiveness of toxin will last longer with successive treatments.
  • Will it be painful?
No, the modern fillers we use contains a small dosage of localized anasthetic. We also make use of thin walled needles to reduce discomfort.
  • When is the right time to start with treatment?
There is no right or wrong answer here. You start when you feel you have an issue that needs solving or you wish to beautify.
  • What other use cases and benefits does toxin have?
Toxin is a great solution for: Excessive sweating Constant migraines An overproduction of oil in the skin Acne and acne related problems Toxin has great anti-aging properties Back and neck muscle spasms Overactive mucus production
  • Are there any long-term side effects of using toxin?
Currently, the only known long term side effects are only positive. For example, we might treat you for your frown lines but a side effect of that might be a significant reduction in headaches.
  • Are these treatment available to men also?
Of course. A major misconception in the aesthetics industry is that it is purely aimed at female patients. Anyone can benefit from these treatments including men. After 30 there is a significant drop in testosterone production, and this could lead to many issues arising including intimate wellness. We encourage men to reach out and and meet with Dr Chris to assess how these treatments could impact your life.
